Chasing Norfolk Southern 63W With SD70ACe Leader, Meets Delmarva Central Railroad in Harrington!

Come with us in a new episode of Delmarva Rail Productions as we chase the Norfolk Southern 63W (Delmarva Central Railroad-01) empty stone train from Stockley to Felton, Delaware meeting the Delmarva Central Railroad HA-1 north of Harrington! An SD70ACe leads this train and as a bonus our friendly conductor you may have seen before in other videos is on board! Trains: Norfolk Southern 63W (Delmarva Central Railroad-01) - Dagsboro, DE - Birdsboro, PA Norfolk Southern SD70ACe 1052 Norfolk Southern AC44C6M 4449 Delmarva Central Railroad HA-1 (Harrington to Clayton and back) Delmarva Central Railroad SD40-2 (SD40-3) 3506 Delmarva Central Railroad SD40-2 (SD40-3) 3505 Locations with detailed description: 0:40 - Stockley - We first start off our chase of the 63W going through the farm fields in the countryside of Sussex County, in the unincorporated area of Stockley. Stockley is known for the Stockley tavern bar and package store, and the Stockley center helping with physical and metal disabilties. 1:50 - Georgetown - The mechanical crossing bells at Layton St in Georgetown is still going strong doing its job as the train comes by the historic Georgetown Train Station crossing over Layton St. 2:55 - Redden - 63W slows for the speed restriction just right after the E Redden Rd crossing. 4:17 - Ellendale - The train pounds across the frog that goes into a siding as it blows the Nathan Airtime K5LLA for both Willow St and Main St. The siding is for cars needed to be delivered to customers on the Milton Industrial track, and as well as other cars that are there for temporary storage. 5:30 - Houston - Slowly creeping through Houston after a speed restriction, 63W picks up speed after crossing over Main Street and Pine Street. 6:57 - East Harrington - The sign that reads "RING" is the railroads timetable for Harrington. As the train passes the sign you can hear our conductor say they are meeting Delmarva Central Railroad north of Harrington. 8:00 - Harrington - Since Norfolk Southern 63W will meet the Delmarva Central Railroad HA-1 north of Harrington, the conductor will have to line the switch originally set for the main line and line it for the siding. This way the Delmarva Central Railroad HA-1 can get by the 63W. Any trains usually coming off the Indian River Secondary will usually transition from the siding track and crossover onto the main, unless something special is happening like here In this video. 11:20 - Hopkins Cemetery Rd - The Norfolk Southern 63W crew waits in the siding before Hopkins Cemetery Rd as Delmarva Central Railroad HA-1 comes into view with a heavy loaded WIMX train and a few tanks and plenty of hoppers. You can see the shaking on the engineer sides handrails as the SD40-2's turbocharged 645E3 engine does all the hard work. We then see the conductor give the track warrant from ALLEY (Which is Paradise Alley Rd but still covers Hopkins Cemetery Rd area) to PORTER to dispatcher, which the Delmarva Central Railroad HA-1 gave up previously as the last car passes by the power. 19:20 - Felton - our last stop is in Felton as we look at the historic Felton train station. The K5LLA creates a unique doppler and echo effect, given the weather and humidity was just right, and the sound-waves bounces across adjacent buildings.
